In Wellington, New Zealand hosted the first fixture of the ODI series against Pakistan. As the Kiwis has already won the prior T20 series by 2-1, they have the higher morale than the Greens. Pakistan also made the statements, trying to neutralize that negative energy and morale. Despite of all these neutralization, Pakistan has lost their first fixture with quite a margin. New Zealand has taken the lead by winning the first fixture.
The match was conducted in the Basin Reserve stadium, where New Zealand batted first and scored 281 runs in the first innings. In reaction to such a regular target, Pakistan only reached to the mark of 210 and lost all of its wickets. The openers didn’t provide the required starter as Ahmed Shahzad and Captain Azhar Ali went out to bat. Pakistan lost its first wicket when Azhar Ali got out by the bowler Grant Elliot while he was attempting for the sixer. He only scored 19 runs. Next wicket was of Ahmed Shahzad, when he knocked out by just scoring 13 runs.
Muhammed Hafeez has maintained his credibility by scoring a meaningful 42 runs in just 56 balls. Pakistan has won the toss and elected to bowl which again proved to be wrong.
