Taboos are prevailing in Pakistani societies since a very long time. We often hear bizarre stories every now and then.
Recently a small boy, who is just 15 years old, presented his chopped hand on a plate. He committed this peculiar act because he thought he had committed a blasphemy (i.e. a religious crime).
Now, how would have you reacted if you were the parent of the boy?? Will you be shocked and sad or express happiness to his act? Will you take pride in it?
The boy who resides in a village near Lahore in Hujra Shah Muqeem district committed this inexplicable act because he thought he has committed a serious crime and he deserves punishment.
It all started in the Masjid when the imam asked the people who among them were skipping prayers? He then added that those who love Prophet (PBUH) never miss a single prayer no matter what.
The boy raised his hand because he was skipping prayers. All the people around him started cursing him. According to some reports the boy was also beaten for committing this religious crime.
The negativity of the people motivated the child to do something extraordinary to prove himself, to prove that he is not a sinner.
The incident moved the child psychologically and emotionally. He went to the fodder cutting machine and sliced the same hand which proved him a sinner in the mosque. Not only this, the boy presented his hand on a plate to the imam.
Instead of getting shocked by this act, the villagers and the family celebrated this act with full pomp and show. The boy was declared a hero and the blasphemy was removed.
This example shows the ill mentality of the people and how they impact the tender minds of youngsters.
