Panama Paper Leaks Hits Putin’s Staff and Other Leaders

On Sunday, a controversial paper comprising of more than 11 million documents, have been released by an offshore legal firm based in Panama. These documents are classifying as the leaks or the classified documents that are exposing many big names of the world. Vladimir Putin is also included in this list not directly as the aides of the Russian President have been founded dealing in those offshore companies. Many of the other celebrities have also been included to conduct such activities. Even the football sensation Lionel Messi is also included.

Various media groups have been included in this investigative work as it is now the biggest scandal that have come up as many of the big names including some of the leaders are included in the list. Around 140 political names have come up amongst them 12 are the current or the former presidents of the countries.

The majority of the source of this report is linked to an unknown German daily Zeitung. The report has been shared with the media with the help of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

These documents included the information of around 214,000 offshore companies. This data is gathered in the 35 offices of the law firm Mossack Fonseca.

Most of these are declared by ICIJ as legal. Director of ICIJ said that this leak has covered a much bigger horizon and that is the reason it is considered as the biggest document leak in the history.

He also said that the Putin is not included in these documents but his associates are clearly mentioned in the report. They have invested more than $2 billion in the shadow companies.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s family has also been included in this list for being involved in dealing with these offshores companies.
