There have been many artists, actors and writers who have made it a point to go out of their way and mock Islam’s Prophet Muhammad in some way or another, in deliberate attempts to injure the sentiments of Muslims who hold him very dear. However, it came as a very pleasant surprise when a tweet from an account that purported to be from India’s eminent Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji praised him, describing him as the most remarkable main in the history of the word. It is yet to be verified whether this is really Rani Mukerji’s account as it seemed to be unverified.
The tweet appeared on 24th December, on Eid Milad un Nabi, 12 Rabi ul Awwal according to the lunar calendar followed by the Muslims, a date believed by some Muslims to be the birth date of Prophet Mohammed P.B.U.H. A subsequent tweet extended Eid Miladun Nabi greetings to Muslims around the world, asking non-Muslims why they did not wish Muslims on their festivals whereas Muslims would wish non-Muslims.
It should be noted that there are several Twitter handles that have been created in the name of Rani Mukerji, none of which is verified as yet. It is therefore difficult to judge whether this account is original or not. The actress’ manager or the actress herself has not yet made any official statement with respect to this tweet. In early 2015, Rani Mukerji’s manager had made a statement in which he had said that Rani was not on any form of social media, but there has been no update since then.
